MCA RULES

MOFFAT CEMETERY ASSOCIATION
(A Non-Profit Organization) Revised October 10, 2021

THE FOLLOWING RULES AND REGULATIONS ARE TO INSURE UNIFORM MAINTENANCE AND DEVELOPMENT.

  1. All lots shall be utilized for human remains interment purposes only and without discrimination as to race, color, creed, or national origin.
  2. No lot may be resold except back to the Association for the original purchase price.
  3. At the time of your purchase, your plot will be marked at each corner by iron rods. You should arrange to have the lot marked with name or initials on corner markers for your heirs to locate or put curbs around the lot.
  4. All curbs shall be flat and not more than 1-1/2 inches high over and above the existing ground elevation. It must follow the “contour of the land”. You must have your curb “set-up” approved by an MCA Board Member prior to pouring concrete. Do NOT Curb Walkways!
  5. No fence and/or fence posts may be erected on any lot from this time forward.
  6. No shrubs or trees may be planted or allowed inside, outside, and/or in the walkways from this time forward.
  7. The Cemetery is not responsible for vandalism or theft of decorations on gravesites. (Metal objects are often stolen and sold for cash by thieves.)
  8. Decorations that become unsightly or damaged may be removed during any clean-up day event, if deemed necessary. (Wind and weather damage all decorations over time.)
  9. Glass and ceramic (any breakable) containers, or items, are not permitted at any time. If found, they will be removed.
  10. You MUST notify an MCA Board Member with information prior to each burial or ask the funeral home to do so. (Some plots have been renumbered in recent years.)

NOTICE: Beginning 10-10-2021, there will be a “Gate Fee” of $150 for every future burial charged at the time of interment, to be collected by the funeral home, no matter how long you have owned your plots. This fee is to help with the cost of clean up after each burial.

**Please note: The Moffat Cemetery is not a perpetual care cemetery. Maintenance is funded strictly through donations and Gate fees. (All donations are tax deductible.)  For more information, contact:

You are cordially invited to attend the Annual Membership Meeting of the Moffat Cemetery Association which is held the second Saturday of October each year at 9:00 a.m. The meeting is held at the Moffat Community Center, unless otherwise published. All owners of cemetery lots and anyone who has ancestors/relatives buried in the cemetery are eligible voting members of the Association. This Association consists entirely of Volunteers. By-laws of the Association will be furnished upon request and/or viewed on our website, www.moffatcemetery.org.
